Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking lessons with Scott Swim. By enrolling in lessons or attending your first lesson, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Throughout these Terms and Conditions:
Scott Swim, we, us, our refers to Scott Swim.
Customer, you, your refers to the person responsible for booking and paying for lessons.
Parent/Guardian refers to the parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult accompanying a swimmer.
Provisional Booking - means a lesson space temporarily reserved without payment for up to 48 hours.
Catch Up Tokens means a non-refundable lesson credit offered when a customer cancels a lesson in accordance with our cancellation policy.
Make Up Token means a lesson credit offered when Scott Swim cancels a lesson.
Portal means the online customer account used to manage bookings, payments, attendance, and lesson information.
We will hold a lesson space for up to 48 hours following the issue of a booking invitation.

Customers are asked to accept these Terms and Conditions when first accessing their online portal.
If you attend a lesson without having formally accepted the Terms and Conditions online, attendance will be deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Lessons operate weekly throughout the year according to the published swimming calendar available on your portal.
Some venues follow local school holiday schedules and may operate different timetables.
You will receive confirmation of:
Your Scott Swim membership operates on a rolling monthly subscription basis.
Your place will remain reserved until:
Scott Swim operates a monthly subscription model.
Your monthly fee is calculated by:
Your first payment will normally be collected within five working days of completing your Direct Debit mandate.
The first payment covers your assessment lesson, allowing you to decide whether you wish to continue with:
All ongoing payments must be made by Direct Debit.
Subscription payments are normally collected on the 3rd day of each month unless otherwise agreed.
Customers are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.
If a payment fails:
We reserve the right to change lesson fees.
A minimum of four weeks' notice will be provided before any fee changes take effect.
Notice will be given by email and/or text message.
Additional individual lessons can be taken by purchasing additional Catch Up Tokens. These tokens are priced at £25 (1:1) and £18.75 each (2:1). Purchase can be arranged by emailing hello@scottswim.co.uk and, once purchased, will appear in your account to allow you to book additional lessons available via the catch up tab on the portal.
Unless otherwise stated, all lessons are 30 minutes long.
While we aim to provide continuity of teaching where possible, we reserve the right to change instructors at any time for operational reasons, including:
Swimmers under 16 years of age must have a parent or responsible adult present at the venue throughout the lesson.
Children must be handed over directly to their teacher before the lesson begins and collected immediately after the lesson ends.
All swimmers, parents, guardians, and spectators must comply with venue rules and instructions from Scott Swim staff.
Failure to do so may result in suspension or termination of lessons without refund.
Requests to change regular weekly lesson days, times, or venues must be submitted by email.
Changes are subject to availability and are not confirmed until approved by Scott Swim.
If you wish to change just one lesson, we ask that the original lesson is cancelled on the portal and a new lesson is booked, using your Catch Up Tokens, via the catch up tab.
Customers may record absences through their online portal.
To qualify for a Catch Up Token, absences must be recorded at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson.
Catch Up Tokens:
If Scott Swim cancels a lesson, a Make Up Token will be added to your account.
We will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative lesson opportunity.
Make Up Tokens:
If a swimmer fails to attend a lesson without providing at least 48 hours' notice through the portal, no refund, replacement lesson, or credit will be provided.
All swimmers must wear appropriate swimwear suitable for swimming lessons at all times.
For safety and hygiene reasons, jewellery should not be worn in the pool unless it cannot be removed. Excessive makeup, hair products, or any substance that may affect water quality should not be worn during lessons.
Parents, guardians, and adult swimmers are responsible for ensuring that the swimmer arrives with all necessary equipment, including:
All personal belongings are brought to and left at the venue entirely at the owner's risk. Scott Swim accepts no liability for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property left anywhere within the venue or surrounding grounds.
All swimmers, parents, guardians, and spectators are expected to behave respectfully towards Scott Swim staff, venue staff, and other customers at all times.
We reserve the right to remove a swimmer from a lesson if their behaviour:
Swimmers under the age of 16 must be accompanied to lessons by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.

All customers must comply with any venue-specific rules and policies.
Venue information is available through your customer portal and may also be communicated at the time of booking.
Where designated waiting areas are provided, we request that parents and guardians remain within these areas during lessons so that they can be contacted quickly in the event of an emergency or incident.
Failure to comply with venue rules or reasonable instructions from Scott Swim staff may result in suspension or termination of lessons.
Scott Swim operates a strict no-photography and no-recording policy within pool areas and changing facilities.

Scott Swim is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all swimmers.

All property left within a swimming venue or its grounds is left entirely at the owner's risk.

Our swim programme is structured to support learners in developing their skills in a natural and progressive way. Children are guided from absolute beginners through to a club-ready standard by the end of the scheme. For adult learners, we operate a parallel progression system using an alternative certificate format tailored specifically to adult learning needs.
For group lessons, swimmers will be matched with others of a similar age and ability wherever reasonably possible.
Due to availability and swimmer progression, exact matching cannot always be guaranteed.
Scott Swim reserves the right to move swimmers between classes where this is considered beneficial to their development or the overall effectiveness of lessons.
Every swimmer develops at their own pace.
While our teachers continuously assess progress and provide guidance, Scott Swim cannot guarantee that any swimmer will achieve specific outcomes within a particular timeframe.
To provide swimming lessons, Scott Swim must collect and process certain personal information about customers and swimmers.
By enrolling with Scott Swim, you consent to the collection and processing of information necessary for the administration and delivery of our services.

Scott Swim takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
Access to customer data is restricted to authorised personnel who require it for operational purposes.
Customers may request details of the information held about them and may request corrections to inaccurate information at any time.
It is your responsibility to ensure that contact details, emergency information, and medical information remain accurate and up to date.
From time to time, Scott Swim may send information regarding services, promotions, or offers that may be relevant to existing customers.
You may opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time.
Scott Swim will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Information may only be shared where:
Scott Swim may offer promotions, discounts, or introductory offers from time to time.
All offers are subject to availability and may be withdrawn or amended without notice.
Separate terms may apply to individual promotions.
A new swimmer is defined as an individual who has never previously attended a Scott Swim lesson.
Existing customers may receive a courtesy lesson credit when referring a new swimmer to Scott Swim.
To qualify:
Parents, guardians, and adult swimmers are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date information regarding any medical conditions, disabilities, allergies, injuries, or additional support needs that may affect participation in swimming lessons. This information must be provided at the time of enrolment and updated promptly if circumstances change.
Customers must notify Scott Swim as soon as reasonably possible of any change to a swimmer's health, medical condition, medication, injury, or other circumstance that may affect their ability to participate safely in lessons. Failure to disclose relevant information may affect our ability to provide a safe swimming environment and may result in lessons being suspended until appropriate information has been provided.
By attending lessons, the swimmer (or their parent or guardian) confirms that they are fit to participate in swimming activities and that there is no medical reason why they should not take part.
If there is any doubt regarding a swimmer's fitness to participate, customers should seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before attending lessons.
Swimmers must not attend lessons if they are suffering from any illness, infection, or medical condition that could:
Scott Swim reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove from a lesson, any swimmer where we reasonably believe participation may present a risk to the swimmer, other participants, staff, or venue users. Where appropriate, we may request additional medical information or written confirmation from a healthcare professional before allowing a swimmer to return to lessons.
In the event of an accident, illness, or medical emergency, Scott Swim staff will take reasonable steps to ensure the welfare of the swimmer, including contacting emergency services where necessary. Parents, guardians, and adult swimmers must ensure that emergency contact details provided to Scott Swim remain accurate and up to date at all times.
